Advancing the Next Generation of Digital Battery Passports

BASE will be showcased at E-world Energy & Water 2026, Europe’s leading trade fair for the energy industry, taking place in Essen, Germany, from 10 to 12 February 2026. The event offers a high-level platform for engaging with industry, research, and policy stakeholders who are shaping Europe’s digital and sustainable energy future.

Fraunhofer, the coordinator of the BASE project, will represent the project as part of a shared booth organised by several departments of the Fraunhofer Institute for Algorithms and Scientific Computing (SCAI). BASE will be featured in the Fraunhofer booth, highlighting the project’s objectives, architecture, and progress towards an interoperable Digital Battery Passport.

As part of the official programme, Klaus Wolf, representing Fraunhofer SCAI, will deliver a 20-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute Q&A session titled: 

"Semantic concepts as a driving force for the next generation of the digital battery passport (EU project BASE)".

The presentation will explore how semantic data models and interoperable architectures can enable scalable, trustworthy, and regulation-ready Digital Battery Passports, supporting the EU Battery Regulation and the transition towards circular battery value chains.
